Bigwing Searobin [Prionotus alatus]

Description

The Bigwing Searobin is a species of sea robin found in the western Atlantic Ocean. It is a bottom-dwelling species, preferring sandy or muddy bottoms at depths from 27 to 183 meters. The Bigwing Searobin is named for its large pectoral fins, which it uses for both locomotion and finding prey. Its diet consists mainly of small fish and invertebrates.
