Searobins [Trigla]
Description
Trigla is a genus representing the typical searobins, characterized by their wing-like pectoral fins which they can spread wide while swimming. These fish are found in sandy or muddy bottoms of oceans around the world, where they use their lower pectoral fin rays, which are detached and resemble 'legs', for probing the substrate for food. They are known for producing croaking sounds through the use of muscles attached to their swim bladder.
