Description
The Yellownose Bartail Flathead, known as Platycephalus crocotulus in the scientific community, is a marine species that is unique to Australian waters. This species is most commonly found in the coastal waters from the Houtman Abrolhos, Western Australia, to Moreton Bay, Queensland, and lives in a depth range of 40 to 100 m. The Yellownose Bartail Flathead is distinguished by its yellow snout and can reach a maximum length of 37 cm. It inhabits sand and muddy bottoms, often burying itself with only the eyes and part of the mouth visible.
