Ringtailed Cardinalfish [Apogon aureus]
Description
A marine species found in the Indo-Pacific region, from the Red Sea to Samoa, and from southern Japan to the Great Barrier Reef. It has a distinct gold stripe running from snout to tail and a dark 'ring' marking on the tail. This species is also a nocturnal mouth brooder, with males carrying the eggs.
