Deep-snouted pipefish [Syngnathus schmidti]
Description
The Deep-snouted pipefish is a species in the family Syngnathidae. It is found in the eastern Atlantic, from Scotland to Morocco, and in the Mediterranean Sea. It typically inhabits seagrass beds and sandy environments in shallow waters. This species can reach a length of 15 cm. Like other pipefish, the males carry the eggs in a brood pouch until they hatch.
