Southern Roundnose Grenadier [Macrourus whitsoni]
Description
The Southern Roundnose Grenadier is found in the Southern Ocean, particularly around the South Sandwich Islands. It inhabits deep waters, usually between 800 and 1,500 meters. This species is similar in appearance to the Roundnose Grenadier, with a large head and eyes, and a long tapering body, but it is generally smaller, reaching a maximum length of 75 cm.
