Description
The Glassy flatfish, scientifically known as Chascanopsetta lugubris, is a species of large-tooth flounder native to the Indian and western Pacific Oceans. They are usually found in deep-sea environments, primarily at depths of 200 to 1,500 meters. This species is characterized by a flattened, asymmetrical body structure typical of flounders, with both eyes located on one side of the body. They have a transparent, gelatinous body and can grow up to 30 cm in length. Their diet primarily consists of small fish and invertebrates.
