Description
Power's Deep-sea Lightfish is a mesopelagic species found in the Atlantic, Indian, and Pacific Oceans. It prefers depths of 200 to 1000 meters. Like other lightfish, it has a slender body and can reach up to 7 centimeters in length. Its body is nearly transparent, with a silvery hue and photophores scattered across its lower and lateral sides. This species is known for its vertical migratory behavior, rising near the surface at night to feed on planktonic organisms.
