Description
Thymopsis nilenta, commonly known as the Granulated Caridean Shrimp, is a species of shrimp that dwells in the deep sea. It is found in the Atlantic Ocean, particularly in the Rockall Trough and Porcupine Seabight. The species is characterized by a granulated carapace and abdomen. They have a pair of well-developed eyes, despite living in the darkness of the deep sea. They are known to be sediment sifter, meaning they filter the seafloor sediment for organic matter to consume.
