Thymopsis [Thymopsis]
Description
Thymopsis is a genus that includes a single species of lobster found in the deep waters of the South Atlantic Ocean. Similar to its relatives, it inhabits deep-sea environments and is characterized by a smooth carapace, slender body, and relatively small claws. Due to its deep-sea habitat, Thymopsis is not well known and is rarely encountered by humans, making it of limited commercial interest but of significant interest to marine biologists studying deep-sea ecosystems.
