Giant tiger prawn [Marsupenaeus monodon]

Description
A large prawn species that can reach lengths of up to 336mm. They are widely distributed throughout the Indo-Pacific region. They inhabit a variety of marine and estuarine habitats, including mangroves, estuaries, lagoons, and offshore waters. They are opportunistic feeders, consuming a range of food including small invertebrates, detritus, and algae. They are easily recognizable by their large size, dark color, and the prominent serrated rostrum.
