Common Pile Worm [Mediomastus capensis]

Description
The Common Pile Worm, scientifically known as Mediomastus capensis, lives in the marine environment on sandy bottoms. It is often found in the intertidal zone, but can be found at depths up to 100 meters. It feeds on organic particles found in the sand. This species is characterized by a long, slender body, usually pale or yellowish in color, with hair-like setae along its sides.
