Description
Nebularia rutila is a marine gastropod mollusk belonging to the family Mitridae. It can be found in the waters of the Indo-West Pacific, particularly in the Red Sea and off the coast of South Africa. It has a beautiful shell that is elongated and spirally grooved, usually orange, pink or red in color, hence the name 'rutila,' which means 'reddish.' This species tends to inhabit sandy or muddy bottoms in relatively shallow waters.
