Miters [Mitridae]
Description
Mitridae, commonly referred to as miters due to their mitre-shaped shells, are a family of predatory sea snails. They have elongated, often beautifully patterned shells with many fine ridges. Miters are active predators, feeding primarily on small invertebrates. They are found in tropical and subtropical seas, often in coral reef environments. Their striking shell patterns and colors make them highly prized by collectors.
