Description
The False Cowrie is another species of sea snail under the Plesiothyreus genus. Its shell is similar to its relative, the Giant False Cowrie, but it is smaller in size, typically around 6 cm. The shell's coloration is a mix of white, tan, and brown hues, often featuring a broad, dark spiral band. It is a nocturnal species that feeds on algae and detritus. It can be found in the tropical Western Pacific, particularly around the Philippines, Solomon Islands, and New Caledonia.
