Description
Newnesia costellata, or the Newnesia sea snail, is a marine gastropod mollusk. It is found in the Indian Ocean, particularly around the coasts of Madagascar. The species is recognizable by its elongated, ribbed shell, which is typically a dark, glossy brown. Newnesia costellata inhabits sandy or muddy environments and is a detritivore, feeding on decomposing plant and animal matter.
