Diaphanids [Diaphanidae]
Description
Diaphanidae, or Diaphanids, are a family of small, often transparent, marine gastropods. These snails possess delicate, translucent shells through which their internal organs can sometimes be seen. They are predominantly benthic, living on or near the seafloor, where they feed on microorganisms and detritus. The family is characterized by their ability to blend into their environment, making them difficult to spot, and their shells, which are thin and fragile.
