Description

Turbinella is the type genus of the family Turbinellidae, consisting of large, heavy, and elongated sea snails. The shells of Turbinella species are characterized by their thick walls, deep spiral grooves, and a long siphonal canal. These snails are found in the tropical waters of the Indian and Pacific Oceans. They are benthic animals, living on sandy or muddy bottoms, and feed on detritus and small invertebrates.
