Triangle Crabs [Trapezia]
Description
Trapezia is a genus of small, brightly colored crabs known for their symbiotic relationship with corals, particularly species in the genus Pocillopora. These crabs are found in the Indo-Pacific region. They have a unique triangular carapace that aids in their concealment within the coral branches. Triangle crabs feed on plankton and other organic materials caught in the coral, and in return, they defend the coral from predators and help keep it clean from debris.
