Snow Petrels [Pagodroma]
Description
Pagodroma is a genus of small, pure white seabirds known as Snow Petrels. These birds have distinct black bills and eyes, contrasting their overall plumage. Snow Petrels are true denizens of the Antarctic regions, breeding on the high cliffs and rocks of Antarctica. They are highly pelagic outside the breeding season, feeding on fish, krill, and squid, and are capable of surviving in some of the most extreme cold conditions on the planet.
