Smalltooth flounders [Xystreurys]

Description

Xystreurys is a genus of flatfishes, commonly called smalltooth flounders, found in the eastern Pacific Ocean. These species are known for their relatively small mouths with tiny teeth and both eyes located on the right side of their bodies. They inhabit sandy and muddy substrates in coastal to offshore waters, where they camouflage themselves and prey on small invertebrates.
