Description
Facciolella is a genus within the duckbill eel family, comprising species known as shorttail eels. These eels feature a more compressed body than other members of their family, with relatively shorter tails. They possess small, but distinct, pectoral fins and their snouts are less pronounced. Shorttail eels are deep-sea dwellers, primarily found in bathypelagic zones. They feed on a variety of deep-sea invertebrates and small fishes.
