Pentidotea [Pentidotea]
Description
Pentidotea includes species that are similar in habitat and behavior to those in the Idotea genus but are distinguished by specific morphological features, such as the shape of their pereopods (legs) and pleopods (swimming appendages). These isopods are also found in a variety of marine environments, from intertidal zones to subtidal areas, where they feed on algae and contribute to the health of their ecosystems.
