Paraplagusia [Paraplagusia]
Description
Paraplagusia is a genus comprising species of tongue soles distinguished by their relatively small size and specific morphological features, such as the shape of the lateral line and fin placement. These fish are found in coastal waters, often near estuaries, where they occupy soft substrates. Paraplagusia species are adapted to a life of camouflage and ambush, feeding on small crustaceans and other invertebrates.
