Description

Notopygos is a genus of marine polychaete worms notable for their ornate, leaf-like appendages which they use for locomotion and possibly for respiration. These worms are relatively rare and exhibit a fascinating behavior of curling into a ball when disturbed. Their diet is not well-documented but is presumed to include detritus and small invertebrates.
