Megamagelona [Megamagelona]

Description

Megamagelona represents a genus within the family Magelonidae, known for its relatively larger size among the shovelhead worms. These worms exhibit many of the family's characteristic features such as a shovel-shaped prostomium and a long, slender body adapted for life within the seafloor's sediment. The genus distinguishes itself by the size of its members and specific morphological adaptations that allow them to inhabit a variety of sediment types, from sandy to muddy substrates, often in deeper water zones.
