Description
Maeotias is a genus within the Limnomedusae family, with species mainly found in brackish environments such as estuaries and coastal lagoons. These jellyfish are characterized by their translucent, often colorless bodies and can reach sizes of up to a few centimeters in diameter. Maeotias species have a lifecycle that includes both a benthic polyp stage and a pelagic medusa stage, allowing them to exploit different ecological niches. They feed on a variety of small aquatic organisms.
