Description
Lysiosquillina is a genus within the Lysiosquillidae family, characterized by mantis shrimps with notably robust and highly specialized raptorial appendages. These species are adept at striking prey with incredible speed and force. Lysiosquillina species are often larger than those in other genera within the family, with some individuals reaching lengths of up to 40 cm. They inhabit tropical and subtropical seas, often constructing elaborate burrows where they wait to ambush prey.
