Description

Laeops is a genus of lefteye flounders with a distribution in the Indo-Pacific region. These flounders are known for their sandy and muddy bottom habitats where they can effectively use their camouflage to blend in and ambush prey. Laeops species are characterized by their smooth, oval bodies and the ability to change coloration to match their surroundings closely. Their diet mainly consists of small fish and invertebrates.
