Description

Holacanthus includes some of the largest and most colorful angelfishes in the family Pomacanthidae, such as the Queen Angelfish and the King Angelfish. These species are found in the Atlantic Ocean, from the Gulf of Mexico and the Caribbean to South America. Holacanthus species are recognized by their vibrant colorations, large size, and elongated dorsal and anal fins. They play a significant role in their ecosystems, feeding on sponges, tunicates, and algae.
