Haminoea [Haminoea]
Description
Haminoea is a genus within the Bullidae family, known for its species that inhabit various marine environments, from tropical to temperate waters. These gastropods have delicate, semi-transparent shells that are often globular or oval in shape. The body of Haminoea species is adapted for a life partially buried in sandy or muddy substrates, feeding on algae and organic detritus. The mantle covers the shell partially or fully, with some species displaying vibrant colors and patterns. Their behavior includes crawling on the substrate and some are known to swim using a flapping motion of their foot.
