Godwit [Limosa]

Description

Limosa represents the godwits, a group of large, long-legged, long-billed shorebirds. Godwits have a distinctive slightly upturned bill and showy, patterned wing feathers during flight. They are found in a variety of wetland habitats, from coastal mudflats to freshwater marshes, where they probe deeply into the mud for invertebrates.
