Diplocirrus [Diplocirrus]
Description
Diplocirrus includes species of marine polychaete worms that are distinctive for their soft, often pink or orange bodies with elongated, feathery branchiae (gills) along their sides. These worms construct muddy or sandy tubes on the seafloor, where they live and feed on microorganisms and detritus. They are recognized for their ability to blend into their surroundings, making them difficult to spot.
