Description
Ptychoramphus is a monotypic genus, with Cassin's Auklet as its sole member. This small, nocturnal seabird is found along the North Pacific coast, from Alaska to California. It nests in burrows or under tree roots in forested areas near the shore. Cassin's Auklet feeds on small zooplankton and fish, which it captures by diving.
