Caribbean Nurse Sharks [Pseudoginglymostoma]

Description

Pseudoginglymostoma is a relatively new genus within the family Ginglymostomatidae, with its only species being the Caribbean nurse shark. These sharks are smaller and more slender compared to other members of their family. Found exclusively in the tropical waters of the western Atlantic, especially around coral reefs and rocky areas, they are nocturnal hunters, preying on small fish and invertebrates. Their slender bodies allow them to navigate through tight spaces in reefs to find food.
