Cape Petrels [Daption]
Description
Daption is represented by the Cape Petrel, also known as the Pintado Petrel. This genus is easily identified by its distinctive black and white plumage that resembles a dalmatian pattern. Cape Petrels are highly pelagic, spending most of their life at sea except during breeding seasons. They feed mainly on krill, small fish, and squid, often seen following ships and engaging in dynamic aerial acrobatics over the water.
