Description
Amphimedon comprises sponges that are usually massive and encrusting. They possess a skeleton made of spongin fibers but without mineral spicules. The surface of these sponges is often characterized by a conulose texture, with the presence of oscules that can be flush with the surface or elevated on mounds.
