Description
Alopiidae, known as thresher sharks, are characterized by their exceptionally long caudal fins, which they use as a whip to stun prey. This family includes three species, all belonging to the genus Alopias. Thresher sharks are pelagic, found in both deep and coastal waters around the world. They are solitary creatures, primarily feeding on fish and squid. These sharks are also known for their energetic breaches out of the water.
