Squat Lobsters [Galatheidae]
Description
Galatheidae, or squat lobsters, are a family of marine crustaceans that resemble small lobsters but are more closely related to hermit crabs. They have long, flattened bodies and tail fans, which they use for rapid swimming. Squat lobsters are often brightly colored and found on continental shelves and slopes, associated with coral reefs, under rocks, or within sediment.
