Description
Fungiidae, also known as mushroom corals, are unique in that they are mostly free-living, solitary corals, although a few colonial species exist. They resemble mushrooms and can be found in a variety of colors and sizes on reef flats and slopes. Mushroom corals are important for their role in the biodiversity of coral reef ecosystems.
