Description

Acroporidae is a family of stony corals found predominantly in tropical waters. They are characterized by their branching, plate-like or encrusting colonies. Acropora and Montipora, two of the most well-known genera within this family, are significant contributors to reef building and offer a variety of habitats for marine life.
