Yellow-tinge monocle bream [Teixeirichthys jordani xanthurus]
Description
This is a variant of the Bridled monocle bream, distinguished by a yellowish tinge on its body and fins. The black bridle is more prominent in this variant, becoming wider as it extends to the preopercle. Like its parent species, it inhabits tropical marine environments in the Indo-West Pacific, especially reef-associated habitats. Its diet and behavior are similar to the parent species, consuming algae, detritus and small invertebrates, and typically seen in small groups or pairs.
