Yabe's Pillar Coral [Palauastrea yabei]

Description
A species of stony coral in the family Montastraeidae. It forms tall, cylindrical columns with round and smooth crowns. The polyps of this species are active during the night, with extended tentacles for capturing food. They are found in the tropical Pacific Ocean, particularly around Palau and the Ryukyu Islands. It typically inhabits lagoons and outer reef slopes at depths between 10 and 20 meters.
