Description
Xanthilaophonte mucosa is a marine copepod species that was first described in 2014. It is found in the North Atlantic Ocean, particularly around the coast of Portugal. Like other species in the Xanthilaophonte genus, X. mucosa is a small, free-living, benthic creature. It is distinguished by its 2-segmented P5 exopod in both males and females.
