Western Australian Tusk Shell [Antalis occidentalis]
Description
The Western Australian Tusk Shell is a marine species endemic to Western Australia. It has a tubular, tusk-like shell, which is open at both ends. The shell is usually white or cream-colored. Like its relatives, it inhabits sandy and muddy bottoms, and stays buried in the substrate with only the posterior end of the shell exposed.
