West coast sole [Austroglossus microlepis]
Description
A marine flatfish species that is endemic to the southeast Atlantic Ocean, specifically along the west coast of South Africa. These fish are typically located in sandy and muddy bottoms and are known for their elongated, flat bodies which are dark on the top side and white on the underside. They can reach a maximum length of 40 cm.
