West Atlantic Trumpetfish [Aulostomus strigosus]
Description
The West Atlantic Trumpetfish is found in the western Atlantic Ocean. It is characterized by its long, tubular body and snout, and a series of dark bars along its body. Like other trumpetfishes, it is a solitary species that uses stealth and disguise to hunt smaller fish within coral reefs and rocky habitats. It can often be seen floating vertically, mimicking sea whips to avoid detection.
