Tropical viperfish [Foetorepus tropicus]
Description
The Tropical viperfish is a species of barbeled dragonfish. It has a slender, elongated body with a large mouth and sharp, fang-like teeth. This species is found in the mesopelagic to bathypelagic zones in tropical and subtropical waters of the Atlantic and Indian Oceans. It is bioluminescent, with light-producing organs along its ventral surface.
