Thickback Sole [Solea stanalandi]
Description
The thickback sole is a species of flatfish in the family Soleidae. It has a dark brown upper body and a lighter underside. It is found in the western Indian Ocean, from the Red Sea to South Africa, and prefers sandy or muddy bottoms. The thickback sole is a nocturnal species that feeds on small invertebrates.
