Description
The Pygospio anoculata, known as the Thick Tube Worm, can be found in the northeastern Atlantic Ocean. They inhabit sandy and muddy bottoms, where they build tough, parchment-like tubes that are often covered by sand and shell fragments. This species is distinguished by its thick, non-tapering body and the absence of eyes. They are primarily sedentary, feeding on organic particles suspended in the water.
